"Cookie"

Today after giving Aubree her lunch I asked he if she wanted a cookie (vanilla wafer). She said "yes". Then I asked her "can you say cookie?", and wouldn't you believe it, SHE DID!! It took her a few tries to actually get it right, but she said it, not once but TWICE! She is so smart :)

The pictures below are from the other night when Jeremy brought home cases of candy, yes I said CASES! Aubree was so intrigued.w`

It's been a while....

It's been quite some time since I blogged. And looking back at the older posts I realize that it's so nice to be able to go back and not only see the pictures, but also see what I wrote about what she was learning to do at those times. So here it is the new scoop on my adorable bundle of joy. I'm not going to commit to an everyday post, but I do promise to update you more often on how she's doing.

A lot has happened since I last blogged:
Aubree started walking about two months ago.

She turned one and we had a nice birthday party for her and Avery.

We wiened her from the bottle to a BIG girl sippy cup, and two days into it she stole a little boy's bottle right out of his mouth at daycare.

She FINALLY sleeps through the night in her own bed. It's so easy to put her to bed now. Thank you Super Nanny for teaching me how to get her to that point!

She also says a few select words; Dada, Mama, kitty, baby, Weasy and Wayway (both words meant to be Weasel), sit (currently pronounced "shit"), and when you ask her what a cow says she'll say "mmmmm" (she hasn't quite got the "ooooo" part). When it's bath time I tell her to go find the bath and she'll walk right into the bathroom and wait patiently for me to come start the water and get her into that warm water. She LOVES the bath!

CRAWLING

Yes, Aubree is crawling now!!! Such a huge mile stone and I am proud to say, as a working mom, that I watched her crawl for the first time. At least I think so; that is unless my mother-in-law and babysitter decided not to announce the news to me in fear that it would bother me. It probably wouldn't have, but I'm happy it happened the ay it did.

She is getting so big. She claps her hands when she's "happy and she knows it", and says da-da. She just melts my heart :) Needless to say I LOVE her with everything piece of my soul.

Pictures of her crawling coming soon!

Swimming

We took Aubree swimming for her first time a few weeks ago. She loved it! We bought her a little floaty thing so she could have her space, but the stupid lifeguard said it was safety hazard because she couldn't see under it. Weird... I know.

Giving up the dream

I'm not one to usually give up on things, but this is something Injust can't seem to keep up on. Taking a picture a day sounds so easy, but it gets harder when you actually try it. Working, cooking, cleaning, laundry and the rest of my other responsibilities just seem to fog my mind and I forget to take a picture of her. I will still keep her blog updated; hopefully more often than once a month :)

Day 51

Aubree and I had a picnic outside today. We had a slurpee and animal crackers. So much fun!

Day 50

Aubree has learned how to fake cry. It's actually pretty funny to watch. She'll be sitting there happy as can be minding her business, and then she'll notice you looking at her so she'll start fake crying. It's not as high piches as her normal cry... and she'll stop for a minute to see if you're still looking at her. If you are, she's do it again. Kira taught her to fake cough a little while ago. Maybe this was another Kira doing.
